As the Occupy Wall Street movement continues to remind people that 'We are the 99%' and fight the special treatment given to the ultra-rich, various pop culture phenomena are bound to pop up in support of the movement. Novels and even short stories can be a long way underway. However, through my usual arcane channels (Monday Morning Oracle) I have learned that quick rewrites of various genre works will be hitting the shelves soon:
Robert Heinlein: The Tycoon is a Harsh Mistress
David Brin: Stockdiver
Phillip K. Dick: 1% Report
Ian Flemming: The Man with the Golden Sachs
Ursula K. LeGuin: The Repossessed.
Phillip Pullman: His Dark Materialism

Thanks for helping me start my day with a smile.
We are many Scandinavians here on LJ, but we almost all post and comment in English. I'm contacting you to try to gather us in a strong and lively Scandinavian speaking milieu, where we can get beta readers for fanfics in our mother tongue, squee over Scandinavian events, fanworks and cons (not just stare in envy at our American friends' posts from AWA...) and so on. You can talk about all kinds of fandom related topics at
(How I found you: I searched for Scandinavian journals with recent updates. I then had a look at your profile and journal, saw that you were active in fandom and thought that you would possibly be open for an invitation. I hope I wasn't totally amiss. :)
I've joined scandafoandom and I'm looking forward to following your posts. Although--fair warning--I may be a bit on the silent side when it comes to posting comments, I'll happily read news from the Scandinavian fandom and provide any if I have it. Bests, Jakob.
