Sale and Updates

I know we don't see much of each other at the moment, but perhaps you remember that I sometimes write stories? Well, don't worry if you forgot, because I'm not writing all that many stories at the moment. I am, however, writing SEO for a lingerie webshop, web copy for a painter, more web copy for a stress coach, and having my kitchen rebuilt. All of which is 'almost' finished but not quite ready to be crossed off the list. I have managed to finish an old story--and by old I mean outlined in Yonder Dayes of the Year of our Lorde Two Thousande and Sixe. Another story is taking shape in my head and on MS Word whenever I have the surplus energy, but it's tough writing because at heart it's a true story. More about that if I ever finish it.

A boost of energy came my way a few days ago when I sold another short story. 'The Vringla/Racket Incidence' goes to the Far Orbit Anthology (World Weaver Press) that is edited by Bascomb James. It's the first sale of two thousand and thirteen, so I'm pleased with breaking the long dry spell of rejections.

I know it's been a few weeks, maybe a month, since I've stopped by, but I thought you were all engrossed in a story you were working on and was about ready to edit. Or was that the time before when I graced your journal?

No matter. Question: Does World Weaver Press accept newbies as long as their writing is decent?

Yeah, there was a story a while back that I finished. It's now making the rounds to different magazines. Two rejections so far, but that's business as usual.

As far as I know, World Weaver Press is open to all, and they've been professional and courteous along the way. But I think most of the markets listed at both ralan.com and duotrope.com / thegrinder.diabolicalplots.com are open to everybody, so you can probably find others who pay better. Nothing wrong with trying them first :-)

Thanks for the links. The 1st two I haven't heard of before, but I have heard of The Grinder.
